Track and Field Travels to Columbus for Final Regular Season Meet

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies look to cap off what has been an eventful regular season with a trip to Columbus, Oh. to compete in the Jesse Owens Invite this weekend.

Oakland has seen program records fall all season with a stellar squad taking the track and field, most recently as Ja-Van Poole paved his way into the top ten in the nation in the 400m hurdles, while Jamie Giese shattered a program record in the shot put, earning them both conference athlete of the week honors.

On Friday in Columbus Oakland will have four student-athletes in competition, with Elizabeth Rice in the hammer throw, Ashley Quinn in the women's 1500m, Yami Albrecht and Michael Hancock in the men's 1500m.

On Saturday Alex Mansfield in the men's shot put and Alexa Messina in the women's pole vault will close the weekend out.

Catch Oakland compete in their season finale on Friday, May 2 at 12 p.m. for day one, and Saturday, May 3 beginning at 10 a.m. for day two.
