Track and Field Laces Up for Golden Grizzlies Invite

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies are ready to kick off their annual Golden Grizzlies Invite, on Saturday, Apr. 5.

The meet will feature over 17 collegiate competitors, including Horizon League competitors in Cleveland State, Milwaukee, and Detroit Mercy.

Last year's Golden Grizzlies Invite was a huge success for Oakland, as 22 Golden Grizzlies set personal bests.

This meet will be the first of two consecutive home meets for Oakland, as they will host the Elaine Leigh Invite on Apr. 18-19.

Oakland is on the heels of an eventful weekend at the NC State Raleigh Relays and Cedarville Yellow Jacket Open, where Ke'Vina Finch set a program record in the 200m Dash for the second time in her career.

Kylei Anderson, Ja-Van Poole, and Alex Mansfield were among others who placed first in their respective events to start the spring, while Michael Hancock, Yami Albrecht, and Grace Nolan all added personal best times to the tally.

The Golden Grizzlies Invite will begin with the throwing and field events at 10 a.m., and the track events beginning at 12 p.m.
