Track and Field Closes Week With Trips to Penn and Louisville

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies return to the road for a pair of meets this weekend, traveling to Penn University for the Penn Relays, and closing the week at the Louisville Clark Wood Open.

Oakland is looking to build off a strong showing at the Elaine Leigh Invite, where several student-athlete showings occurred. Jamie Giese is aiming to build off a sweep of the throwing events, taking wins in the Discus, Shot Put, and Hammer Throw last time out.

Ashley Quinn (1500m) and Ja'Van Poole (450m Hurdles) also are riding high after breaking program records. Quinn also secured a win in the 800m, completing a successful weekend,

Oakland saw six other event winners over the week, and are hoping to have more atop the podiums this weekend.

The Penn Relays will be a one day stop on Thursday, Apr. 24 at 7 pm. The Clark Wood Open at Louisville is a two day event from Apr. 25-26.
