GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Oakland Men's Golf team wrapped up play at the Brook Valley Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina University, finishing 11th in the team standings with a total score of 913 (+49).
Bhavneet Sohal led the Golden Grizzlies with a strong performance, placing 22nd overall with a three-round total of 223 (+7). Sohal posted consistent rounds of 75 (+3), 75 (+3), and 73 (+1) to pace the team.
Luke Kelly finished tied for 32nd at 228 (+12) after rounds of 77 (+5), 78 (+6), and a final-round 73 (+1).
Robert Burns secured a tie for 52nd, carding a 233 (+17) with rounds of 78 (+6), 80 (+8), and 75 (+3).
Matteo Rocco and
Jack Zubkus rounded out Oakland's team scoring. Rocco tied for 73rd at 236 (+20) after a tough second round but rebounded with a final-round 78 (+6). Zubkus placed 86th at 240 (+24), highlighted by a second-round 76 (+4).
Edward Rowe, competing as an individual, tied for 81st at 239 (+23).
The Golden Grizzlies improved their team score each round, posting a 299 in the final round after opening with 305 and 309. UCF won the tournament with a team score of 872 (+8), while East Carolina's Nathan O'Neal claimed individual medalist honors at 211 (-5).
Oakland will look to build on this performance as they prepare for their next tournament, Don Benbow Invitational on March 31-April 1 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
