RIO VERDE, Az. – The Oakland Women's Golf team posted a strong final two rounds to finish 13th at the Rio Verde Invitational hosted by Western Michigan.
Following a rough first round where the Golden Grizzlies were 25 strokes over par, the Women's Golf team put together a strong second and final round to finish out the tournament.
Lily Bargamian got going early posting a first round final of 82 (+10). In the second round, the Golden Grizzlies saw more success with the squad shooting 81 or better, individually. Bargamian continued to have success shooting a 72 in the second round to stay at 10 over.
Olivia Hemmila finished the second round with a 73 (+1) and
Paige Scott with a 74 (+2).
In the final round,
Savannah Haque led the Golden Grizzlies shooting a 74 (+2). Bargamian concluded the final round shooting a 75 (+3),
Olivia Hemmila and
Paige Scott shot a 76 (+4), and
Grace Boczar rounded out the group with a 77 (+5).
The Golden Grizzlies are back in action at the Samford Invite Monday. Women's Golf looks to continue their momentum from the final two rounds into their next tournament.
