INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Oakland men's and women's swimming and diving teams kicked off the 2025 Horizon League Championships in dominant fashion, securing multiple victories and setting new records on the first day of competition.
Oakland swept the 200-yard medley relay events, with the women's team,
Grace Albrecht,
Isabella Gary,
Jordyn Shipps, and
Ronja Riihinen, clocking in at 1:40.83.
Harry Nicholson,
Christopher Palvadre,
Sofus Balladone, and Charlie Brown set a new Horizon League meet record with a time of 1:24.16.
On the boards, Edin DeHooghe earned sixth place and
Liam James took seventh on the 3-meter dive.
The 800-yard freestyle relay saw the women's team,
Mia Englender,
Kelley Hassett,
Erika Pietras, and
Sam Thiessen, earn third with a time of 7:22.11. On the men's side, Oakland secured the top spot with a time of 6:25.55, courtesy of

Jack Wike, Karel Subagyo, and
Jonas Cantrell.
