Men and Women's Swim and Dive Teams Sweep Top Spots in #HLSD Preseason Polls

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Horizon League has announced their #HLSD Preseason Poll, with Oakland sweeping both first place spots in the men's and women's polls.

Both teams are returning Horizon League Champions, extending the program's streak of 46 consecutive conference championships for the men's team and 30 consecutive for the women's team.

The men's squad received 48 points and six of the seven first place votes, while the women's program collected 49 points and all seven of the first place votes.

"We are honored for the recognition from our peers within the horizon league to be ranked number one in the men's in women's preseason polls," Said Oakland Head Swimming Coach Mitch Alters. "We look forward to the challenges and weeks of hard work ahead to defend our Horizon League titles in February."

Both teams have set an unparalleled precedent of success, recognized by their opponents. The Golden Grizzlies look to continue their incredible winning streaks as they hop in the pool for the first time this season on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Wayne State.
