Indianapolis, IN – The Oakland Men's Golf Team finished tied for 4
th place in the Don Benbow Invitational hosted by Butler University after the final round was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Freshman
Robert Burns earned a career-best individual runner-up finish with rounds of 66-69 for a 36-hole total of 5-under-par. Another freshman,
Ben Willis who played as an individual, finished tied for 7
th with a total of 2-under-par. Junior
Bhavneet Sohal also earned a top-10 finish for the Golden Grizzlies with a total score of 1-under-par. Sophomore
Ellis Kinnaird, playing as an individual, and Graduate Student
Anthony Comito both finished tied for 29
th place with a score of 2-over-par. Junior
Edward Rowe and senior Yaro Ilyenko both shot 6-over-par totals for a tied for 62
nd place finish. Sophomore
Luke Kelly, playing individually, finished at 7-over-par for a tied for 72
nd place finish.
Gavan Keogh, who also played individually, shot 8-over-par which resulted in tied for 80
th place.
The Golden Grizzlies have a quick turnaround as they get back in action this weekend at the Northern Kentucky University Spring Invitational April 6-7.
