ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University Men's and Women's Track & Field has announced its 2023 Outdoor Track & Field slate with three home meets at the Oakland Track & Field Complex.
For the second straight season, the Golden Grizzlies will open the year with the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State in Raleigh, North Carolina. In the season-opening meet last year, Oakland alum Connor Goetz kicked off the campaign with a school record in the Men's 10,000m run.
Next comes the Pacesetter Sports Invitational from March 31-April 1 at the Gibson Sports Complex at Indiana State. The Sycamores hosted a, relatively, small field last year with the home blue and white taking the meet victory on both sides.
Oakland hosts its first of three meets on April 8 in the standalone Golden Grizzlies Invite where Alex Hugh-Plott first toppled the Men's High Jump outdoor school record prior to a stellar indoor campaign this year.
Once again, the Golden Grizzlies will go back to the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania from April 15-16 with an almost distance-exclusive field out of OU. Oakland will then host the Elaine Leigh Invitational for the two-day meet on April 21-22 with more school records falling last season in the same meet.
Youngstown State hosts the 2023 #HLTF Outdoor Track & Field Championships as the Golden Grizzlies look to hoist more conference titles and improve upon indoor standing on May 5-7 in Ohio.
Midwest-wide student-athletes will get one more chance to qualify for the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships as Rochester, Michigan will be the site of the Oakland Last Chance on May 11 to conclude the regular season.
