GREENWOOD, Ind. – Announced by the organization at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, Oakland Golden Grizzlies senior Breanne Beatty and sophomore Miriam Ibezim received College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors.

Known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) until rebranding in 2022, CSC has been the proud provider of the Academic All-America program since 1952.

Majoring in Elementary Education and Biology, respectively, Beatty and Ibezim will now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with those recipients set to be revealed in mid-March.

Owning a 3.88 GPA, Beatty, who hails from Worthington, Ohio, hopes to become a special education teacher.

On the court, she has been a contributor for the Golden Grizzlies since the moment she arrived in Rochester in 2019, starting 108 of the 110 games she has played in over the last four seasons and totaling career averages of 7.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

A native of Rochester, New York, Ibezim has a 3.66 GPA and has taken a major step forward as a player in 2022-23. After playing in only five games and tallying just 25 minutes as a freshman, she has appeared in all 27 contests this year, starting 26, and is averaging 3.3 points and 3.7 boards.

Picking up a thrilling 66-65 victory over the rival Detroit Mercy Titans in their final home game of the regular season on Monday, Beatty, Ibezim and Oakland will next be in action against the Wright State Raiders on Thursday, February 23 at 6 p.m. at the Nutter Center.
