ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies indoor track and field team showed out once again on the road with a handful of personal bests along with a new indoor school record.

Oakland saw nine members of its team finish with personal bests, two on the men's side and seven on the women's, as the Golden Grizzlies placed three in the top-five with one second-place finish. Among those personal bests were
Yami Albrecht who, not only set his own record in the 5000m race with a time of 14:05.39, but set the Oakland indoor record as he went on to finish 5th in the event. Staying in the 5000m race,
Grace Nolan ran a personal best of 17:08.96 at the open.

Wesley Hollowell placed the best on the Golden Grizzlies team in the 5000m event as he crossed the line in second place with a personal best of 14:42.23.
Makenna Scott (17:48.05) and
Jennifer Ohlsson (17:30.53) set new times for themselves in the 5000m race as Ohlsson crossed the line in fourth.

Keeping it on the women's side,
Grace Hungerford competed in the 400m dash and ran a time of 58.46, while
Abby Jackson had her best time of her career in the 800m dash with a final time of 2:15.20. Rounding out the women track team was
Madelyn Richman who ran the mile with a time of 5:08.50, followed by
Brooke Hinkelman who sped to the finish line in the 3000m event with a personal best of 10:13.39.

The track & field team will get some rest before its next meet at Saginaw Valley Jan. 19, 2024, at the SVSU Doug Hansen Open.
