ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University Men's Track & Field Athletes Jimmie Williams and Alex Hugh-Plott are set to take the oval and the jump mat for the 2022 NCAA Division I East Preliminaries May 25-28 in Bloomington, Indiana.

On Wednesday, Williams will take his blocks in heat four of the Men's 400m as he will go head-to-head with athletes ranging from Kentucky and Florida to Northwestern State and Gardner Webb. This is the second year in a row that Williams will compete in the prelims as the senior and 400m Horizon League Champ posts a seed time of 46.58.

Hugh-Plott will be in the second flight of the Men's High Jump on Friday after finishing runner-up at the Horizon League Championships. Going into the meet, Hugh-Plott has jumped a high of 2.10m (6'10.75").

If Williams were to make it out on Wednesday, he would have a chance to compete in the quarterfinals, also set to take place on Friday. If both athletes were to make it passed the NCAA East Prelims, they and other qualifiers would meet for the National Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
