VOETBERG 3K PERFORMANCE NETS RUNNER OF THE WEEK HONORS

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Ellie Voetberg of the Oakland University Women's Track & Field team was named Nike #HLTF Women's Athlete of the Week the conference announced on Tuesday.

Voetberg led the way in the Women's 3000m run to place first at the SVSU Tune-Up as the team preps for the 2022 Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championships as the freshman tacked on the third-best time in the conference this season with 9:57.97. Only three athletes in the league this winter have gone under ten minutes.

Voetberg is now the second Oakland athlete to be named to the honor as Maddi Leigh did it first back on January 25.
