ROCHESTER, Mich. -Â Terrence Brooks Jr. and Maddi Leigh of men's and women's track and field have been named Oakland Student-Athletes of the Week presented by Prairie Farms.
Brooks broke the school record in the men's 800m on the GVSU Big Meet-Friday edition with a new time of 1:51.75 as the second-fastest time in the Horizon League this year. Brooks was also on the school record men's DMR, which is first in the conference after the squad finished with a time of 9:50.57.
Leigh broke her own women's 800m school record at the GVSU Big Meet with the Horizon League's best time this season of 2:11.44. Leigh went on to compete in the women's DMR, which ranks second in the league as well.
