NEW SCHOOL RECORD HOLDER, WILLIAMS, NAMED RUNNER OF THE WEEK

ROCHESTER, Mich. – On Tuesday, Oakland University Track & Field grad student Jimmie Williams was named Horizon League Track Athlete of the Week by the conference.

Williams not only broke a school record of 47.30 in the men's 400m but also set the 24th-best time in the nation (and in the Horizon League) of 46.85 at the Jet's Pizza Invitational on the campus of Saginaw Valley State University last weekend.

OU has now had three-straight athletes of the week in Ray Braziel and Maddi Leigh. Braziel was previously named to the December 7 athlete of the week honors.

Both Golden Grizzly teams will be on the road at the prestigious Meyo Invite hosted by University of Notre Dame on February 4-5.
