GREEN BAY, Wis. – The first of consecutive road tilts against programs from the Badger State, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies were defeated by the Green Bay Phoenix, 64-42, on Thursday, December 29.
Oakland is now back to an even .500 at 6-6 and 1-2 in Horizon League play, while the Phoenix improve to 9-3 and 2-1 in conference action.

Breanne Beatty led the Golden Grizzlies with a career-high 21 points and eight rebounds.

Sophomore Maddy Schreiber paced Green Bay with 14 points and senior Sydney Levy tallied a double-double, registering 13 points and 11 boards.
This was only a three-point Phoenix lead, 32-29, at the halftime break, but the Golden Grizzlies struggled to continue to score the basketball in the second half, hitting just 14.7 percent (5-34) of their shots in the final 20 minutes.
Spearheaded by Beatty's eight and Ferrer-Bernad and van Schaik both pulling down six, Oakland handily won the rebounding battle Thursday, 49-36, but Green Bay more than doubled the Golden Grizzlies up on assists, 17-7.
