Shepherd and Williams Named Student-Athletes of the Week

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University basketball student-athletes Will Shepherd and Sug Williams were named Prairie Farms Student-Athletes of the Week by the department on Monday.

Shepherd hit a career-high four three-pointers (4-4 from range) in the team's 92-90 overtime victory in front of a sold-out crowd of 4,059 at the Athletics Center O'rena against Eastern Michigan on Saturday. Saturday was also the Dallas native's first start of the early 2022-23 season, grabbing two boards as well with 12 points.

Williams tallied seven points in 17 minutes off the bench for Oakland in the Women's Basketball game against Michigan State last week. The Ecorse, Michigan native went 3-3 from the charity stripe en route to topping the squad's scoring category, going 2-5 (40%) from the field.
