The Golden Grizzlies came out on the field with exciting energy to start off the conference tournament totaling seven shots in the first half. Sydney Grodsinsky kicked it off by firing an on-target shot to the net landing in the hands of the Jaguar goalkeeper. Similarly, the Golden Grizzlies kept testing the Jaguars by weaving in another attack by Sami Lopez but unfortunately, it didn't make it past IUPUI defense. Back-to-back shots by Jayna Fraser would then fuel Oakland's desire for a first-half goal even more with attempts soon after from Sharon Sampson and Wierenga, however, it wasn't enough to get through to the other side of the net. A 12-minute goal off the post by IUPUI would put them up on the board to end the half 0-1, IUPUI.

Oakland continued this fast-paced energy to kick off the second half recording just under two times the number of shots as the first half. Sophie Wilsey kicked one straight at the Jaguar goalkeeper at just under 10 minutes of starting the second half, however shortly after, IUPUI took possession of the ball and scored another goal. This didn't stop the Golden Grizzlies from continuing to push for more shooting opportunities as we saw Wierenga testing the net again with a laser shot to the goalkeeper. Jayna Fraser, Carmela Barro, and Alexa Sabbagh put their best efforts into placing the ball into the net nearing the end of the second half, but unfortunately, those were saved by the Jaguar goalkeeper leaving the end of the game to a 0-2 loss.
