WILLIAMS SHATTERS SCHOOL RECORD AT JET'S PIZZA INVITE

SAGINAW, Mich. – The Oakland University Men's and Women's Track and Field teams saw yet another school record fall Saturday at the two day Jet's Pizza Invitational on the campus of Saginaw Valley State University.

Jimmie Williams' men's 400m finish of 46.85 seconds set a new school record and established the 24th best time in the entire NCAA as the Golden Grizzlies started off the meet on Saturday strong. The previous record was 47.30.

Gabriel Singh's 48.68 second time in the men's 400m places him fourth in the Horizon League standings in that event as Williams slides into first. With Williams and Singh, Oakland now has the top four times in the Horizon League in the men's 400m event.

Brandon Bonsu followed it up in the men's 200m, finishing second in 22.87 seconds as the freshman Trey Plichta posted a top five Horizon League mile time in 4:16.80 in the distance events.

On Friday, Markeal Williams tallied 4203 points in the men's heptathlon for a second-place finish as Emily Schaub took third in the women's pentathlon with 3050 points.

On the women's side, Azsah Bradley took the title in the women's 60m dash coming in at 7.61 seconds as Makiya Worthy solidified third in the women's 200m as the freshman stopped watches in 25.37 seconds.

Worthy then doubled in the women's 400m to come in third in 57.05 seconds as Ashley Quinn kicked off the distance events with the mile to finish third with a time of 4:57.91 which puts her third, currently, in the Horizon League.

The women's 4x400m relay team of Madison Leigh, Quinn, Worthy, and Payton Sabourin now holds the second-best time in the league after flying away with the victory in 3:56.72.

The women's field events saw plenty of highlights with Lotte Houtman and Alexa Melissa finished first and second in the women's high jump and pole vault with marks of 1.61m (5'3.25") and 3.44m (11'3.5"), respectively.
