The bronze medal was Canada’s first-ever in softball.

Oakland University softball alumna Erika Polidori added another milestone to her already impressive resume, as she helped Team Canada to a 3-2 victory over Team Mexico in the bronze medal match at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The bronze medal was Canada's first-ever in softball.

Polidori, a member of the Canadian Softball Team since 2013, crossed home plate off a two-run single in the second inning of the medal-deciding contest. The former Golden Grizzly totaled two hits and an RBI throughout the Olympic games. Defensively, she had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in five chances.
