Herrington, Troyer, and Bommarito Named to #HLSB Postseason Awards

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Horizon League announced their 2025 #HLSB Postseason Awards, naming four Golden Grizzlies to the awards.

Madi Herrigton, Kam Troyer, and Kenna Bommarito were all named to the All-League Second Team. Bommarito was also named to the All-Freshman Team, while fellow freshman Storm Kentros was named as a Sportsmanship Award Finalist.

Troyer earned her second consecutive All-League Second Team nod, leading Oakland in batting average (.330), hits (45), doubles (7), triples (4), and RBI (27). She achieved two or more hits in a game 14 times, including a 4-for-4 performance with three doubles against Purdue Fort Wayne (4/13). Her dominant year at the plate set career-highs in almost all hitting categories as she led the charge at the plate for Oakland.

Joining Troyer on the All-League Second Team is Madi Herrington, marking her first All-League selection. The senior from LaGrange, Oh. batted .337, tallied 35 hits, six doubles, four triples, two homers, and 20 RBI. In Her career-best season, she ranked top ten in on base percentage (.417) and OPS (.946).

The final member of Oakland's All-League selections for the Golden Grizzlies is Kenna Bommarito, who earned All-League honors as a pitcher. She ended her opening campaign at Oakland with eight wins, sixth most in the conference, and 113 strikeouts. She was one of just five pitchers to eclipse the 100 strikeout mark. She pitched 11 complete games in 20 starts with a 4.43 ERA. She struck out five or more strikeouts in a game 10 times, including a pair of 10 strikeout games.

Bommarito also earned All-Freshman team honors in part to her dual threat ability as a hitter, along with her prowise in the circle. She came on hot in the batters box as the year progressed, batting .292 with two home runs, seven RBI, and a .849 OPS in conference play.

The final name listed on the awards was freshman Storm Kentros, who was named as a Sportsmanship Award Finalist. Kentros started 29 games for oakland in her first season, delivering several big hits and always providing upbeat and positive energy to the squad.
