ALBERQUERE, New Mexico – The Oakland men sit in 11
th place after day one of the NCAA Regionals and are led by
Thomas Giroux who is tied for 18
th after hitting 71 (-1) for the day.
Giroux had back-to-back birdies on the second and third hole and maintained two under par for most of the day.
Colin Sikkenga and
Chris Handy are tied for 40
th with 74 (+2) while
Yaroslav Ilyenko is tied for 49
th with 75 (+3).
Kyle Petrovich finished tied for 57
th and shot a 76 (+4).
Oakland ends day one with a total of 294 (+6) and is ahead of San Diego, New Mexico State, and Prairie View A&M. Oregon State is in the lead with 281 (-7).
