OAKLAND DOMINATES GREEN BAY TO CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON

Schrum scores goal with two assists, Oakland earns No. 2 seed and will host No. 3 seed UIC in #HLMSOC Semifinal on Sunday, Apr. 11 at 1 p.m.

GREEN BAY, Wisc. -
 Charlie Braithwaite scored the eventual game-winning goal just 25 seconds into the match, Dawsun Schrum scored his fourth goal of the season while adding first assists on two goals while the nation's leader in total assists, Noah Jensen, added three more second assists giving him 14 on the season as Oakland rolled to a 4-0 win at Green Bay to conclude the regular season on Monday. With their first road win of the season, the Golden Grizzlies earned the No. 2 seed and will host No, 3 seed UIC in #HLMSOC Championship semifinal action on Sunday, Apr. 11 at 1 p.m. 

Ville Ahola also scored his second goal of the season with an assist, Mikey Ketteman added his first goal of the season while Owen Smith picked up his second assist of the season helping Oakland's (6-1-2 HL) offense put up four goals on Green Bay (3-4-1 HL) who only allowed nine goals all season entering the match. Defensively, Finn Jurak recorded his second shutout of the season with four saves.

The Golden Grizzlies wasted little time getting on the board just 25 seconds into the match as Jensen pushed a touch pass over to Ahola who tapped it over to an unmarked Braithwaite who placed a shot to the lower right side giving Oakland a 1-0 lead.

Oakland's offense went to work again in the 20th minute as Jensen slipped the ball over to Schrum who made a long run down the right side and delivered a feed to Ahola in the center of the box. Ahola took a touch and delivered a left-footed strike just inside the left post past GB keeper Yoder Jamison.

In the 37th minute, Oakland scored on a beautiful goal as Jensen sent a long feed over to Schrum on the right side who in turn, delivered a pin-point cross to Ketteman who connected on a diving header past Jamison giving Oakland a commanding 3-0 lead heading into half time.

During the 73rd minute of the second half, Smith sent a pass into the right side of the box to a wide-open Schrum who streaked in and delivered a shot past Jamison to put the icing on the cake for the 4-0 win.
