WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- For the first time in program history, the Golden Grizzlies won the Horizon League Championship, with Thomas Giroux winning the tournament with a three-round total of 214 (-2).
All five Oakland competitors finished in the top-15, a new achievement for the program.
Giroux becomes the second individual champion in Oakland history, following Evan Bowser who won in 2015 after carding a three-round score of 73, 71, and 76 to total 220. Giroux topped this by shooting 74(+2) in the final round after carding 70 (-2) in the first two rounds.
