HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Yasmin Glazbrook and Mia Melnizki both grinded out three-sets wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 singles position respectively as Oakland battled but fell, 5-2, at Northern Kentucky in Horizon League play on Saturday.

After dropping the first set, Glazbrook rallied to defeat Margita Sunjic, 2-6, 7-6, 1-0, while Melnizki outlasted Elizabeth Rozin, 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 to give Oakland its only two points of the match. Emma Hultqvist also lost a hard-fought match in three sets to Ananya Kothakota, 4-6, 6-2, 0-1 at the No. 5 spot.

Due to a shortened roster consisting of only five student-athletes this season, Oakland has to start each competition with a forfeit at the No. 3 doubles position and an additional forfeit at the No. 6 singles position.

Both teams will close out the series with a dual match on Sunday, Apr. 11 at 8:30 a.m.
