ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Oakland's men's and women's track teams saw great results during day one of the Adidas Winthrop Invitational. Connor Goetz placed first in the 5k (14:34.79) followed by Yami Albrecht in sixth (15:09.55), Chandler Lorf in eighth (15:13.19), Colin Kane in ninth (15:14.36) and Adam Hill in 11th (15:25.75). 

Maryam Sheena placed second in the 5000 (17:32.34) followed by Rachel Kempf in 5th (17:40.89) and Megan Nichols in ninth (18:04.91). Maddi Leigh placed third in the 800 with a time of 2:15.49 followed by Ashley Quinn in seventh (2:19.02).

The Golden Grizzlies continue competition Saturday at 10 a.m.
