
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Dawsun Schrum posted two goals and assisted on Oakland's two other goals accounting for six total points in the Golden Grizzlies' thrilling 4-3 win over Milwaukee at the Grizz Dome on Friday.
Noah Jensen scored a goal with three assists giving him 10 on the season to lead the nation.
Charlie Braithwaite scored his fourth goal of the season while
Ville Ahola and
Micah Sonnenberg each added an assist.
In the 21st minute, Jensen took a feed from
Dylan Borczak and fired a shot on target where Milwaukee goalkeeper Nick Chiappa made a diving save but could not contain the rebound that went directly to Schrum who placed a shot to the right side of the net giving Oakland (4-1-2 HL) a 1-0 lead.
Milwaukee (3-4 HL) got the equalizer in the 39th minute for a 1-1 tie heading into halftime.
The second half provided plenty of fireworks as both teams accounted for five total goals. Braithwaite took a pinpoint cross from the right side by Schrum and headed the ball past Chiappa to give the Golden Grizzlies a 2-1 advantage in the 51st minute. Milwaukee once again responded tying the game just two minutes later in the 53rd minute.
The Panthers took their first lead as Paolo Gratton posted his second goal of the game in the 57th minute for a 3-2 advantage. Sonnenberg then took the ball on the left side and slotted a pass over to Jensen just outside the box. Jensen in turn sent in a cross and connected with Schrum who made a run down the middle and put a shot past the keeper for the equalizer in the 68th minute.
In the 74th minute, Schrum took a pass from Ahola, moved into the box down the right side, and found an unmarked Jensen in the middle who connected on the game-winner to secure the 4-3 win.
Oakland closes out the home slate against Cleveland State on Thursday, Mar. 18 at 2:30 p.m.
