FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Oakland women's track team sits in third place with 25.5 points while the men's team is in fifth with 12 points after day one at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse. 

The women's DMR team made up of Ashley Quinn, Shaneese La Mons, Maddie Brown, and Maddi Leigh placed third with a time of 12:25.56. Hannah Hall tied for third in the high jump with a height of 5 ft., 3 in., while Gabby Cyriax placed fourth in the weight throw (54 ft., 8.75 in.). Megan Nichols took fourth in the 5000m (17:40.60) followed by Rachel Kempf in sixth (17:42.50). 

In the field events, Chase VanSickle placed third in the high jump with a height of 6 ft., 7 in., while Kyle Piotrovsky took ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 50 ft., 6 in. The men's DMR team made of Eddie Harrell III, Jake Kaupp, Ray Braziel, and T.J. Brooks Jr. took fifth place (10:39.27). Yami Albrecht placed 10th in the 5000m with a time of 15:11.00.

The Golden Grizzlies will continue competition at 9 a.m. Saturday.
