INDIANAPOLIS — Sophomore guard Blake Lampman was named to the Horizon League's All-Academic Team, as the conference announced the six-member list voted on by the League's faculty athletics representatives.
To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution (excluding summer school), having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests.
Oakland was one of six schools represented on the All-Academic Team, as Mike DePersia (IUPUI), C.J. Wilbourn (Milwaukee), Adrian Nelson (Northern Kentucky), Dylan Carl (Purdue Fort Wayne), and Loudon Love (Wright State) joined Lampman.
Lampman, majoring in Marketing, has been named to the Dean's List twice in his two-year career with the Oakland men's basketball program. Last fall, he earned a team-best 3.70 GPA.
On the court, Lampman has played in 19 games, making two starts in an injury-riddled sophomore campaign. He reached season highs with 11 points and five rebounds against Bradley (11/27).
Last season, he averaged 5.1 points per game and ranked second on the team in 3-point makes (47). The Haslett, Mich. native earned #HLMBB Freshman of the Week honors twice and was also selected to the Horizon League All-Freshman team due to his strong play.
Lampman and company close out the regular season with a weekend series at Milwaukee (Feb. 19-20).Â
