MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – Oakland defeats NKU 3-1 to move on to Horizon League Championship against No. 1 seed Milwaukee on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.
Just 14 minutes into the game, Maggie Rimer earned her first collegiate goal, settling a cross before nailing the ball into the back left corner of the net, assisted by Sami Lopez off the corner kick.
Entering the game only a minute before, Sharon Sampson became an immediate impact, sending the ball over the goalie and into the net. With a beautiful cross to Sampson, Lopez tallied her second assist of the night, her eighth of the year.
Milwaukee added one to the scoreboard in the 54th minute to make it 2-1. Five minutes later, Ashley Postma added a goal with a cross-like shot from wide outside the 18-yard box, finalizing the score at 3-1. Upon entering her 85th collegiate game, Postma also broke the school record for most games played in a career.
