
HOUSTON - Zach Stadnika continued to dominate in the men's heptathlon on day two of the Houston 5G & Super 22 Invitational, recording a school record in the pole vault (4.70m) en route to a second place finish with a score of 5571.
Stadnika's finish on the day currently places him within the top 10 in the nation.
The Shelby, Township, Mich. native ran a 8.20 in the 60m hurdles, the second best time on the day. Stadnika went on to record a 2:50.84 in the 1000m to finish third.
The senior had a strong showing on day one, finishing with 3063 points. He placed first in shot put (42 ft., 2 in.), second in the 60m (7.11), tied for second in high jump (6 ft., 6.25 in.) and placed third in long jump (22 ft., 3.75 in.).
The Golden Grizzlies will continue competition in South Bend, Ind. at the University of Notre Dame Feb. 7-8.
