BLACK AND GOLD GAME | Oakland men's basketball was excited to annunce its return to ESPN + in the Black and Gold Game!
BLACK AND GOLD GAME RECAP | Oakland men's basketball fans had the opportunity to get their first look at the 2020-21 squad during the Black and Gold Game Wednesday, on ESPN+, as regulation ended in a 60-60 tie.
The Gold team walked away with the win after a free-throw shoot out victory.
- Jalen Moore led the Gold team with 23 points, while Micah Parrish chipped in 11
- Zion Young led the black squad with 17 points and senior Kevin Kangu added 15 and Daniel Oladapo rounded out the double digit performers with 10
- On the glass, freshman Philpps Joseph led with a game-high 12 boards, the only Golden Grizzly to pull down double-digit rebounds
- Kangu went an impressive 3-5 (60%) from downtown, while Blake Lampman hit three triples of his own
- In addition to Moore's 23 points, the Cloverdale, Ind. native added seven assists, six boards and shot 8-of-19 from the floor
- 21 of Moore's 23 points came in the second half
- The Black team led by as much as 17, after going on a 10-0 run in the first half and taking a 27-19 lead at the half
- The Gold team bounced back in the second half, outscoring the Black squad 41-33
- The Gold team shot just 30 percent in the first half, but turned it around after halftime, going 14-22 (64%)
