ROCHESTER, Mich - The Oakland Track and Field team will travel to Grand Valley State University to compete in the Bill Clinger Meet in Allendale, Mich. on Friday, Jan. 17 at 2:45 p.m.
Earlier this week, juniors
Kyle Piotrovsky and
Megan Nichols were both awarded Horizon League weekly honors as Piotrovsky earned male field athlete of the week while Nichols earned female runner of the week for their performances at the SVSU Classic on Jan. 10. Piotrovsky placed first in shot put with a mark of 47 ft., 9.75 in. and Nichols placed first in the 3000m with a time of 10:19.77. Both of their marks now rank first in the conference.
Other top performances from the SVSU Open last week include
Maddi Leigh who won the women's mile with a time of 5:09.52, ranking first in the conference and
Connor Wuori winning the men's 3000m by a time of 8:45.67.
In addition,
Olivia Kane won pole vault (12 ft., 4.5 in.) and
Sheldon Drake took first in the 60m dash (6.98).
