ROCHESTER, Mich. –Brooklyn Blake netted her first collegiate goal, a double overtime game-winner, as the Oakland women's soccer team defeated Youngstown State 1-0 from the Oakland Soccer Field Friday night on LGBTQIA+ Pride Night presented by Oakland University Credit Union.

Oakland (3-4-1, 1-0 HL) controlled the game for the majority of regulation, outshooting Youngstown State (2-6-1, 0-1 HL) 19-3, with 10 of those shots coming in the second half.

Nine Golden Grizzlies took at least one shot in Friday night's match, led by
Alexa Sabbagh with four.

Jaimie Leas recorded two saves, including a crucial stop late in the second half.Â

Blake's goal came nearly six minutes into the second overtime, with
Taylor Thalheimer tallying the assist.Â

Friday's win snaps a four game losing streak for the Golden Grizzlies and marks the first time since 2016 Oakland has won its Horizon League opener.Â
