ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Nearly 200 golfers gathered for the annual Patrick A. Tooman Golden Grizzlies Golf Classic at Katke-Cousins and R&S Sharf courses on the campus of Oakland University on Monday.
"I am thankful for the nearly 200 participants, volunteers and our sponsors that make this event possible," said Associate Athletic Director for Development
Ben Fielder. "I would like to especially thank Plastic, Engineering & Technical Services, Inc., Patrick Tooman, Pepsi, and Chartwells for their continued support of this great event. Oakland University Athletics and the Golden Grizzlies Champions Club looks forward to hosting this event next year and continuing to support our student-athletes."
The event has been in existence for more than 30 years and is a marque event for Oakland Athletics, which officially named the event after longtime donor Patrick Tooman in 2018. The annual tournament provides financial resources for scholarships, facility enhancements, and programming to assist over 320 student-athletes in their quest to become champions in the classroom, community and in competition.
The event featured a four-person scramble format with a shotgun start. For more information on how to support Oakland University Athletics visit the
Golden Grizzlies Champions Club page.
