
ROCHESTER, Mich. – The UIC Flames defeated the Golden Grizzlies by a score of 10-0 in Oakland's first home game of the season. UIC's Marley Hanlon held the Oakland offense to just four hits, while UIC tallied nine as a team.
The Flames jumped on the board in the first thanks to a Kayla Wedl two-run home run. UIC would add two more runs in the second inning and six in the fifth to the end the game at the conclusion of the fifth frame.

Lauren Griffith each recorded one hit in the game and
Jamie Squires played a sound third base, robbing UIC of some bullets off the bat.
Emily Karas pitched the majority of the game going 4.2 innings, recording two strikeouts and giving up eight hits.
Oakland will battle the Flames tomorrow in a doubleheader at 12 and 2 pm.
