
ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Golden Grizzlies put together a late, seventh inning rally, scoring three runs but still falling to the Vikings of Cleveland State by a score of 6-5.
Heading into the bottom of the seventh down 6-2,
Kelsie Swanson led off the inning singling up the middle.
Jessie Munson hit a ball to third, recording the first out of the inning but moved Swanson to second.
Mikayela Marciniak lasered a ball to left field, singling and moving Swanson to third.
Jamie Squires would draw a walk to load the bases with one out before
Brittney Miller roped a ball into right center to bring in two runs. Squires then scored on a throwing error, cutting the deficit to one but the Vikings would get the last out, ending the threat.
Jessie Munson went 3-for-4 with one run scored while
Brittney Miller and
Lauren Griffith both hit 2-for-4 in the contest with Miller hitting her fourth home run of the season. Miller picked up three RBI and Griffith tallied one.
The Golden Grizzlies will battle the Vikings tomorrow at 1 & 3 pm on the Oakland Softball Field.
