Alexis Jones shot a final round of 75 (+3) to finish with a new 54-hole school record of 219 (+3) as the Oakland women's golf team finished in third place at the Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky.
Jones, who tied for sixth place, edged out
Veronica Haque's previous school record set on March 12 by just one stroke.
Kylee Sullivan carded the lowest round of the day for the Golden Grizzlies with a two-over-par 74 to place tied for 18th at 227 (+11). Haque finished tied for 13th place with a score of 223 (+7).
Oakland shot a final team round of 305 (+17) to finish with a three-day score of 904 (+40).
The Golden Grizzlies will compete in their final regular season tournament April 6-7 at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational at Bowling Green.
