
YPSILANTI, Mich. – Katie Colwell swam to four first place finishes in the women's tri-meet against EMU and FGCU. The women's team fell to Eastern Michigan after coming up just one point short 150.5-149.5. Colwell placed first in the 50 and 100 yard freestyles with times of 23.99 and 51.15, respectively. The senior was also a leg in the first place 200 medley relay (1:43.81) with teammates
Grace Shinske,
Sydney McDowell and
Susan LaGrand as well as the 400 freestyle relay (3:28.26).
Susan LaGrand had a good outing, racing to first place finishes in the 200 free (1:52.66) and the 100 butterfly (57.26). Freshman
Emily Aycock placed runner- up in the 200 free behind LaGrand with a time of 1:53.95. Aycock also put her endurance on display winning the 500 freestyle (5:01.62).
Sydney McDowell took the 100 breaststroke with a mark of 1:04.54 while
Taylor Bailey captured the 200 breaststroke win clocking in with 2:19.33.
Last week's swimmer of the week,
Sohvi Nenonen picked up a 200 IM win with a time of 2:06.55 to round out the meet.
The Golden Grizzlies will return to their home pool Saturday, Nov. 16 as they host Green Bay in Rochester at 12 p.m.
