ROCHESTER, Mich. – The men's and women's swimming and diving teams defeated league foe UIC Saturday from the Oakland Aquatic Center 186.5-113.5 and 202-98 respectively.Â

On the men's side Oakland tallied 10 first place finishes and swam to the top spot in every relay on the day.Â

Mack Flowers continued to dominate in the pool, swimming to four first place finishes in the 50 free (20.94), 100 free (45.70), 100 fly (48.66) and 200 medley relay (1:31.38).

Christian Bart accompanied Flowers on the winning medley relay team.

The women recorded 14 first place finishes on the day, including a sweep in the relay events.Â

Emily Aycock placed first in all three of her races including the 200 (1:53.89) and 500 (5:05.05) free, and the 400 free relay (3:28.36).  Teammates
Katie Colwell,
Kirstyn Abbasse and
Susan LaGrand joined Aycock in the winning relay.

LaGrand tallied three additional first place finishes of her own in the 100 back (55.60), 100 fly (55.94) and the 200 medley relay (1:43.50).

Freshman
Sohvi Nenonen had a great day in the pool, also tallying three first place finishes in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.27), 200 Breaststroke (2:21.12) and the 400 IM (4:27.05).

In Diving,
Bernie Turchi defeated the defending Horizon League champion, UIC's Cydney Liebenberg, finishing first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 240.59. Turchi dove to a second place finish in the 3-meter (245.55).

The Golden Grizzlies will continue competition on the women's side Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. in a tri meet against Eastern Michigan and Florida Gulf Coast at Jones Natatorium in Ypsilanti, Mich.Â

Both the men and women will resume league competition on Saturday, Nov. 16 as Oakland welcomes Green Bay to the Oakland Aquatic Center beginning at 12 p.m.
