
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Xavier Hill-Mais led all scorers Saturday with 18 points as the Oakland men's basketball team fell to No. 7 Maryland from the XFINITY Center.
Hill-Mais went 6-of-12 from the floor and was 50 percent from 3-point range (3-6), he was the only double-digit scorer for the Golden Grizzlies (3-2).
Oakland got out to an early 16-12 lead and trailed only 24-22 before Maryland (3-0) finished the first half on an 11-0 run. The Terps added the dagger with a triple at the buzzer, heading into halftime with a 35-22 lead.
The Golden Grizzlies shot just 37 percent from the floor, compared to Maryland's 53 percent effort on the day.
Oakland returns to the O'rena Monday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. against Hartford for military appreciation night sponsored by Army. Monday's game will be broadcast on TV20 and ESPN+.
