CHICAGO - Charlie Braithwaite scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season late in the match off an assist from Noah Jensen as No. 2 seed Oakland saw its season come to an end with a 4-1 setback to No. 5 seed Wright State in semifinal action on a cold and frigid Thursday night. 

Oakland opened the match aggressively putting the pressure on Wright State goalkeeper Joel Sundell placing four shots on goal over the first nine minutes but could not find the back of the net. For the match, the Golden Grizzlies could not convert on nine corner kick opportunities. 

Conversely, Wright State capitalized on their chances scoring two goals on just their second and third shots of the game in the 12th and 16th minute respectively for a 2-0 lead.

The pivotal point in the match came just before halftime in the 43rd minute as Oakland drew a penalty inside the box. Jensen stepped up and delivered a penalty kick strike which beat Sundell to the left side but hit off the post as he dove to the right. The ball then deflected to the right and headed towards the goal line but hit Sundell's foot and went out of bounds ending the chance for the Golden Grizzlies to cut the deficit in half.

The Raiders then added another goal in the 55th minute and took a 4-0 lead in the 64th minute.

Braithwaite got Oakland on the board in the 87th minute with a shot to the lower left side.
