ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Volleyball player Lindsay Wightman has been named Oakland Student Athlete of the Month presented by United Shore for the month of August.

Wightman, a sophomore from Lake Orion, Mich., has posted impressive defensive numbers in her first five games of the season averaging 5.67 digs per set. She recorded three 20-plus dig performances including a 39 dig outing on Aug. 28 at Bowling Green, the second-most in a match in program history. 

As of Aug. 30, Wightman ranked sixth in the NCAA in total digs.
