ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Haley Zemmer tossed a four-hit complete game shutout and struck out four batters as the Oakland softball team topped rival Detroit Mercy 3-0 in game one of the doubleheader Tuesday at the Oakland Softball Field.
Cammie Brummitt drove in the Golden Grizzlies' first run in the first inning with a ground ball that scored Kelsie Swanson.
Mikayela Marciniak extended the lead with a RBI-single in the fourth inning and Oakland added an insurance run as Shannon Carr scored on a wild pitch.

In game two, Madison Jones went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and scored a run while Jamie Squires hit her third home run of the season and finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Also driving in runs was Brittney Miller who was 1-for-3 on the day and Kayla Marburger, who was 1-for-2 with a RBI-double.
Chelsea Wiggins got the start and went 5.0 innings allowing just two earned runs while striking out six batters. Zemmer came in and pitched the final two innings allowing one hit to earn her first save of the season.
With the sweep, Oakland earns two more points and remains unbeaten in this season's Metro Series rivalry.
