Sydnye Gagner netted the game winner in the 78th minute, her first goal of the season, to give the Oakland women's soccer team a 2-1 win over No. 3 seed Northern Kentucky on Monday from the NKU Soccer Stadium in the Horizon League Championship quarterfinals.

Northern Kentucky (10-6-1) took an early 1-0 lead just four minutes into the game, but was unable to get anything else going offensively. Monday marks just the second loss at home for the Norse all season.

The Golden grizzlies (4-11-1) answered in the second half, first with the equalizer from
Alexa Sabbagh in the 66th minute, her second goal of the season. Freshman
Kendra Zak registered the assist.

Lauren Bos tallied her third assist of the year on Gagner's game winning header.

Oakland will travel to host Milwaukee to take on the No. 1 seed Panthers Thursday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. (ET).
