ROCHESTER, Mich. –The Oakland men's and women's swimming and diving team swept Wayne State on Friday from the Oakland Aquatic Center in the Golden Grizzlies regular season home opener.
 
On the men's side it was a battle and a close competition all the way through, but the Golden Grizzlies came out on top, 151-147. The women were able to separate themselves early from the Warriors, and kept a convincing lead throughout the meet, defeating WSU, 201-97.
 
Friday's meet began by both teams receiving their 2018 Horizon League Championship rings, the 40^th straight league championship on the men's side, 24^th straight for the women. The meet against Wayne State also served as parent's day. 
 
The Oakland women's squad is back in action tomorrow, Saturday Oct. 27 as they take on Rutgers and Toledo beginning at 11:30 a.m.
