ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Former Oakland volleyball standout Jessica Dood has signed a one-year professional contract to play in Tampere, Finland for LP Kangasala - Mestaruusliiga through April 2018.
"I am really excited to extend my volleyball career in Finland and see what adventures I come across," said Dood. "I look forward to challenging myself and living in a different country while having the opportunity to play the sport I love."
Dood, a Grandville, Mich. native, was an All-Horizon League selection in 2016 and appeared in a school record 125 sets. She finished her career ranking second all-time in sets played (473), sixth in kills (1,053), 10th in kills per set (2.23), fifth in attempts (2,686), seventh in hitting percentage (.229), 10th in solo blocks (25), sixth in block assists (299), eighth in total blocks (324) and ninth in blocks per set (0.68). She also became just the seventh player in Oakland history to surpass the 1,000-career kill threshold.
Dood will report to the team's facilties in August. The last two seasons LP Kangasala has posted a combined record of 50-30.
