SOFTBALL ADDS TWO NEWCOMERS FOR 2018 SEASON

ROCHESTER, Mich. -
The Oakland softball team added Natalie Herrington and Jessica Munson announced head coach Connie Miner on Wednesday. Herrington and Munson join Cammie Brummitt, Shannon Carr, Lauryn Debono, Madison Jones, Adeline Swiderski and Chelsea Wiggins to complete the 2018 recruiting class.

Milford, Mich.
Middle Infield/Pitcher/Outfield

Highlights:
â–ª Four-year softball letter winner and two-year captain
â–ª Helped Milford to Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) championship
â–ª Named All-District (2014, '16), All-Conference and All-Area selection (2016)
â–ª KLAA Academic Award recipient (2014) and Board of Education Award nominee (2012-15)

Why Herrington chose Oakland:

Coach Miner on Herrington: "Natalie is a utility player who excels at second base and outfield in addition to doing a very nice job in the circle as well. She is a very strong offensive threat who provides great power from the left side of the plate, has a passion for the game and will bring a ton of energy to the team. She loves her teammates and will do amazing things here at Oakland."

Jessica Munson

Miner on Munson: "Jessie is a very strong shortstop with great range and hands with a very quick release and strong arm. She has the ability to play anywhere on the infield coupled with a strong bat from the left side with extra base power. Jessie is all about her team and is willing to do anything to help them be successful. I am looking for great things from her right from the start."
