HAYES, WALKER AND BROCK EARN ALL-LEAGUE HONORS

INDIANAPOLIS - Oakland's Jalen Hayes, Martez Walker and Isaiah Brock have earned Horizon League honors the league office announced Wednesday. Voting was conducted by the league's 10 head coaches, sports information directors and selected media.

Jalen Hayes was named First Team All-Horizon League, the third consecutive season he has received all league honors. A season ago he was a second team selection, and earned a spot on the All-Freshman team his first season with the Golden Grizzlies. The Lansing, Mich. native has tallied a team-best nine double-doubles on the season and has scored in double figures 25 of 31 games.

Hayes ranks 28th all time in program history in career points with 1,216, and is among the leaders in Horizon League play in rebounds (2nd/9.2), scoring (3rd/17.9) and is fifth in the conference in field goal percentage (55%).

Martez Walker earned All-Horizon League second team honors after leading the Golden Grizzlies in scoring with 17.2 points per game, fourth best in the Horizon League. The junior guard boasts a team-best 12, 20-plus point performances and has guided Oakland to an 11-1 record when he is the leading scorer.

Isaiah Brock received All-Freshman and All-Defensive Team accolades after not playing organized basketball for the last five-plus years. After graduating high school, he joined the military and served from 2012-16, having tours in Afghanistan and Kuwait. The Baltimore native is a three-time Horizon League Freshman of the Week honoree (11/28, 12/12, 2/6) and earned his first Player of the Week honor (2/6). Brock became the first player in Horizon League history to earn both freshman and player of the week honors in the same week.

In just 30 games for the Golden Grizzlies Brock sits fifth in career blocks (63), which includes a season-best seven blocks at Robert Morris (12/10), tied for third in single-game school history. Brock ranks second in the Horizon League with 2.1 blocks per game.

Oakland clinched the Horizon League regular season championship with an 86-75 win over Milwaukee in the season finale on Sunday. The No. 1 Golden Grizzlies will take on the winner of No. 8 seed Cleveland State and No. 9 seed Youngstown State on Saturday, March 4, 5:30 p.m. at Joe Louis Arena. Oakland split with CSU during the regular season, each team winning on the road, and swept the Penguins.
