ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Men's track runner Bryce Stroede has been named Oakland Student Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 23-29 after breaking the school record in the 3000-meter on Jan. 28 the SVSU Jet's Pizza Invite.

Stroede, a senior from Horton, Mich., not only broke his own school record but set a new facility record at the SVSU Fieldhouse with a time of 8:10.7. The Oakland track and field teams will return to indoor action Feb. 3-4 at the Youngstown State National Mid-Major Double Duals.
